Court Clears Fani Kayode

A Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria has discharged and acquitted Fani Kayode of money laundering charges. Delivering her judgement on Wednesday, the judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, said the prosecution's case was ''feeble'' and failed to provide copious evidence ''linking'' Mr Fani Kayode to money laundering.

After the judgement, Mr Fani Kayode told reporters that the verdict was the 'doing of the lord' and an end to a nightmare. Mr. Kayode changed his name to celebrate the victory. He changed his name to Olukayode...

''it will no longer be David Oluwafemi Fani-Kayode but instead it shall be David Oluwafemi Olukayode which means '' the Lord had brought me joy'' and today he has done precisely that.

Kayode also gave a press statement on the occasion of his victory.....
