According to his son, Adetokunbo told journalists in Osun State that Oba's body would arrive Nigeria on Thursday and he will be buried on Friday at 10 a.m.

Oba Sijuwade's death was officially announced on the 13th of August. He passed on in a hospital in the United Kingdom on the 28th of July. Burial rites have begun and residents are advised to stay indoors.
