Yeovil pensioner in court over racist comments to his Nigerian employee



A 70 year old an England pensioner in Yeovil who allegedly made racists comments about his Nigerian employee is in court and was charged with malicious communications. 

Williams Harding, 70 who appeared before a magistrate court sitting in Yeovil. He was charged between August 18 and September 30 last year.  The prosecutor, Joanne Pearce said the defendant filled in a form to the small claims court saying the victim was a ‘typical thieving Nigerian’. He also stated that ‘I don’t think God made a race worse than Nigerians', I have not come across an honest one yet.’’

He pleaded not guilt to the offence saying he didn’t intend to cause any offence and he didn’t think the victim was offended by the comments. The case was adjourned until September 23 and he was released on conditional bail and must return for the trial to take place.
