suicide bomber strikes in Kano

         
                                

According to sources an explosion has gone off near a mosque in Kano. A police spokesperson said the teenage female suicide bomber has been confirmed dead. 

The Kano Police Command spokesperson, Magaji Majiya said the teenage bomber detonated the explosive at 9:30 pm Monday after she was prevented from getting into a mosque along Zaria road. The incident occurred just as the faithfuls were dispersing after observing the late night (Tarawih) prayer a witness said.

''She was trying to cross over to the mosque, but she was stopped,'' She immediately detonated the bomb and died immediately.''

Number of casualties were not known at the time of filling this report and no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
