The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has released a new e-mail address that will give the public easy access to the IG's office. The new address which was given in a statement by the public relations person of the police, Frank Mba, the email address is policemonitor@npf.gov.ng
The IG appealed to potential users of the e-mail to ensure they provide authentic information, with which the police can work with. He warned that established cases of deliberate falsehood or intentional misrepresentation of facts may attract prosecution in courts of law.
The IG said the e-mail will encourage free flow of information between the public and police managers, and increase efficiency and better service delivery.
