Top suspects in the $2.1 bn Arms scandal turn to Obasanjo for intervention

A trusted aide of Obasanjo, who confirmed the development noted that he won't be intervening on anyone's behalf because his position on corrupt practices is a public knowledge.

There are reports that former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo has been receiving emissaries on behalf of suspects of prominent Nigerians involved in the $2.1bn security fund scandal.
A report by Punch Newspapers revealed that a number of the suspects have been reaching out to the former president, who is believed to have the ears of the incumbent President,Muhammadu Buhari.
While the individuals, who cut across politics, business, governance and media sectors have been reaching out to Obasanjo to intervene on their behalf, close aides of the Owu born high chief revealed that no help would be coming from the ex-president.

This is coming after Former Accounts Officer II, Ibrahim Idris Wambai, revealed so much to EFCC during his statement after questioning.”
