10,000 Refugees back from cameroon




About 10,000 refugees returned from Cameroon. They were handed over to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The refugees fled from Adamawa and Borno states.

They were forced to leave Cameroon after the camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) was closed, Speaking in Mubi while receiving the refugees, Alhaji Sani Sidi, Director General of NEMA.

Sani said they started arriving through the border post in Sahuda, Mubi after they were screened by the Nigerian Army (NA) and Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

The 3,000 returnees are still border undergoing registration formalities before relocation to Mubi for onward transportation back to Borno.
