President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the board of the NNPC with immediate effect. He made this known through a letter sent on Friday signed by Mr Danladi Kifashi the Head of the Civil Service of the the federation.
In the letter the president thanked the board members for their services to the nation. The NNPC had come under scrutiny after the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor said the sum of $20 billion wasn't remitted from the sale of crude oil into the federation account.
The president said the missing $20 billion was going to be investigated during his administration. He stated this earlier this year.
