Around 2pm today, just after the friday jumat prayers, as the Shehu of Borno State Alhaji Umar Garbai was returning to the palace with his entourage, a suicide bomber struck. The Borno deputy Governor, Zanna Umar was in the company of the Shehu of Borno when the attack happened but both men escaped unhurt.
It is reported that about 5 were killed and an unspecified number injured.
