The helicopter that crashed into the Lagoon has been identified by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as a helicopter belonging to Bristow Helicopters with registration 5N-760540.

According to Mr Fan Ndubuoke, General Manager of NCAA Public Affairs the helicopter was to arrive Lagos at 3:35pm. National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) together with the police and locals have recovered four bodies have taken them to the hospital.
They were 12 people on board according to Mr. Ndubuoke. Six persons were rescued alive and two other persons were yet to be found.
