New pope emerges, Cardinal Jorge picks 'Pope Francis' as new name

After just a second voting session, the white smoke from the Sistine chapel was seen signifying a new Pope has emerged. Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio emerged as the 266th pope and has picked the name 'Pope Francis 1'.

He addressed the massive crowd that gathered to see him and humbly asked for their prayers/blessings.

He is 76 years old and first South American (from Argentina)to be Pope.
