A suicide bomber who claimed to be on an official assignment in 'God's name' was blown by his own explosives when he carelessly dropped it. He lost his lower limbs and fingers in the process. He travelled for about 393 km with the device from Yola, Adamawa State to Bauchi before the bomb wen off.
The police were called to the scene and took him to the Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi but he later died from the injuries he sustained. He however confessed to onlookers and Policemen that he was part of a larger cell of the terrorist Boko Haram sect who are infiltrating the city to carry out an assignment in “God’s name.”
He said his colleagues were on their way to the city from other towns. When thoroughly searched, a gun was found on him, which the police reportedly took away.
