Nigeria wins AFCON 2013!




After a 19 years of not winning the cup, Nigeria today lifted the African Cup of Nations!

We defeated Burkina Faso 1:0 at the South African National Stadium at Johanesburg. The match was watched live by a host of dignitaries including South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, FIFA President Sepp Blatter, CAF President Issa Hayatou and Senate President David Mark who led the federal Governement delegation to South Africa.

President Jonathan has already congratulated the team for winning the trophy and will host a reception at Abuja for the victors as early as Tuesday.
