At a lavish reception ceremony held in honour of the current African Football Champions, the Super Eagles, President Jonathan splashed gifts and awards on the entire team as follows:
Head Coach: Stephen Keshi- N10m, Commander Officer of the Niger (CON) & a plot of land at Abuja.
The Assistant Coaches (which includes Daniel Amokachie "the Bull") N5m, Officer Order of the Niger (OON) & a plot of land at Abuja.
The Captain, Joseph Yobo- N5m, Officer Order of the Niger (OON) & a plot of land at Abuja.
All the players- N5m each, Member Order of the Niger (MON) & a plot of land at Abuja.
The rest of the technical crew would each receive N2m each.
The president also announced some of other rewards from notable Nigerians including $1m from Mike Adenuga, N5m each from Aliko Dangote, $0.5m from Tony Elumelu, $0.5m from Jim Ovia, $0.5m from Sir Emeka Offor and others.
More receptions, celebrations and rewards would come the way of the eagles soon.
