DJ Murdered in Lagos

late DJ, Sulaimon Age

The police in Lagos have arrested a prophet and two others for interrogation in connection with the murder of a popular Disc Jockey, DJ Sulaimon Age.
Sulaiman, father of seven, who was also a staff of Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, was murdered at Ajenifuja Street, Bariga, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS gathered that a prophet known as Jegun, his neighbour, Uncle Bola and his wife, Mrs. Silifat Sulaimon have been arrested by the police at Ilaje Bariga and they are presently being interrogated over the DJ’s death.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS, Mrs. Sulaimon, a fruit seller at Pako bus stop, Akoka said her husband told her on Thursday evening that he was visiting the prophet at Ajenifuja Street. The prophet, she said, was introduced to him by their neighbour called Uncle Bola.
She stated that when he did return that night, she called his phone but it was switched off. She then reported the matter at the police station.
“I contacted Uncle Bola, our neighbour who introduced my husband to the prophet. But instead of following me to the prophet’s house, he stood a distance away and pointed at the house.
“When I got there, the prophet denied meeting my husband but I later saw his corpse in front of the prophet’s house.
His motorcycle was also parked in front of the house. I then returned to the police station to inform them of my findings,” Mrs. Sulaimon explained.
When P.M.NEWS visited Ilaje Police Division, the Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Tarzan Tsav, a Superintendent of police, declined to comment on the matter. But an officer in the police division who craved anonymity said he was aware of the incident.
He added that some suspects have been arrested and were undergoing interrogation at the station and the matter will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, at the completion of their preliminary investigations.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with P.M.NEWS correspondents.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s younger sister, Mrs. Buhari Sidikat has called on the police to carry out an in-depth investigation into the murder of her brother.
She claimed the suspected killer had been boasting that nobody could prosecute him.
Also speaking with P.M.NEWS the late Sulaimon’s first daughter, Sikirat said she was in her mother’s shop when her father said he was going to meet the prophet on Thursday evening but on Friday morning, she was with her mother when they found his father corpse and motorcycle in front of the prophet’s house.
