LET THE GAMES BEGIN!



As you read this story, the long awaited biggest show on earth, the Olympics Games is officially being opened in London, United Kingdom by no other than Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The 27 million pounds!!!  opening ceremony is holding in the magnificent 80,000 seater- Olympic Park in East London. It is estimated that over ONE BILLION viewers around the world will tune in to watch the opening ceremony broadcast.

The budget so far spent by the UK for the Games has topped $14billion! WOW!!!

Over 10,000 athletes from 205 are participating in 300 events and all of Africa's 53 Countries are represented except South Sudan that is Africa's youngest country and yet to join the IOC. Interestingly, one of its contestants has been allowed to compete as an independent candidate. African has the youngest participant in the Games at just 13 years.

Nigeria is part-taking in the Games and our flag bearer for the opening ceremony event is Sinivie Boltic who is competing in Freestyle werstling for our dear country. We also have a canoeist, Johnny Akinyemi representing Nigeria. GOOD LUCK, TEAM NIGERIA!!
