Rodney King got popular after someone secretly filmed some Los Angeles police beating him. The acquittal of the policemen involved led to one of the most popular riots in history. He was eventually awarded a $3.8-million settlement.
King was found at the bottom of his swimming pool and was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead some minutes after. Autopsy will be performed later.
