Farouk Lawan suspended by House, Femi Otedola's companies re-listed on subsidy report

The Federal House of Assembly sitting in Abuja today at an Emergency Session suspended the Hon. Farouk Lawan, Chairman of the Fuel Subsidy Probe panel. He is currently detained by the Police and is being interrogated for his role in the bribery scandal. Oil magnate, Femi Otedola has accused Lawan of demanding bribe from him and collecting $620,000 for a favourable report. His case was also referred to the Ethic Committee of the house for further investigation of the bribery allegations.

The House also relisted Femi Otedola's companies on the list of companies with questions to answer on the fuel subsidy abuse.

The House adjourned plenary until Tuseday, 19th June.
