The police have announced a N10 million reward to any person who volunteers information leading to the arrest of killers of Comrade the Principal Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Olaitan Oyerinde.
Oyerinde was killed in the early hours of Friday by unknown gunmen.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Mr Peter Gana, who announced this in Benin on Sunday, said the Edo State Government offered the reward to facilitate the arrest of Oyerinde’s killers.
Gana, who said he was in Benin to complement the efforts of the state police command, pledged that the Force would do everything possible to unravel the perpetrators of the crime.
He, therefore, urged anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers to contact the police.
“We have opened three telephone lines for the public to assist in the investigations,” said Gana when he visited Oshiomhole at the Government House, Benin.
He gave the telephone numbers as Etisalat – 08178624253, Glo -08158823049, MTN – 0814177026, adding that the
lines would be active from 3p.m on Monday.
