The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike from Wednesday (14th March, 2012) if the 72 hour ultimatum issued to the Federal Government lapses.
NUPENG reportedly wants the Federal Government to permit the Jetty and Petroleum Tank Farm Owners Association of Nigeria, an auxiliary association, to obtain loans from Banks and pay back the loan in 15 years at a 3% interest. This they say will enable them meet the demand of fuel importation.
Wait, are these not the same people that were going back and forth about joining the #OccupyNigeria protests?
