Earlier, the President of Benue State University Medical Students Association (BESUMSA), comrade Agbulu Moses said the students were sad about the loss of their colleague who died an avoidable death. He also talked about the way exams were being handled, those to resit exams which was to be completed in six weeks was extended for up to a year for no reason and the incessant withdrawal of students and manipulation of results. Prof. Angya promised to put an end to all he said.

She  explained that the money for the final accreditation of the medical students has already been released and the accreditation would have been done if not for the strike. She expressed regret over the death of their colleague and promised that the university will give him a befitting burial and compensate his family as well.

The Vice Chancellor said the Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom was doing everything to ensure that the four month old strike be called off.

''The Governor sent people here and we were here till 4.pm, we rose from here to government house. We were there till night before i left, i didn't eat anything'' she said

''The good news on this side is that what Governor talked with ASUU yesterday and they have meeting on Monday, I believe that will end this strike, because he made whatever commitment they wanted.''

....''They have come to an agreement and the union too said they will give the time ,set out timelines as to when they will honour whatever they agreed and they are going back on Monday to talk so that the school will reopen. For me, i believe I have been praying, I have been fasting.''

Keeping our fingers crossed!!!
