Keshi's contract terminated

                                                             

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has terminated its contract with Stephen Keshi. He was fired as coach for the Super Eagles after he was found to have applied for a job with Ivory Coast.

This decision was made on Saturday by the NFF Executive Committee....

''Having thorougly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles' Head coach, which we found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation's objective as set out in the Coach's employment contract.''

Bomb blast in Potiskum







There was a bomb blast today at the Redeemed Christian Church of God along Bauchi road in Potiskum, Yobe State in the North East of Nigeria. Among the victims is a woman, her two children and a pastor.

The bomber suspected to be a male was among those that died in the blast. A resident said the bast went off during the church service and six lives were lost. The Police have also confirmed that 6 people died from the explosion.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Yobe, Toyin Gbadegesin, told News Agnecy of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu that the dead included the suicide bomber.

''A male suicide bomber detonated a bomb at Redeemed Church at Jigawa area of Potiskum, killing five on the spot,'' Mr. Gbadegesin said. '' A female member of the church who sustained injuries also died while receiving treatment in the hospital.''

Chelsea signs Falcao




Chelsea Football club has singed Falcao Ramadel on loan from Monaco.They announced this on Friday that they have agreed terms with Monaco for the season-long loan of Ramadel Falcao. 

The 26 year old Monaco striker told chelseafc.com  ''I am very happy to joining Chelsea and can't wait to start training and help our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.''

APC accepts Sakari and Dogara



With the crisis in NASS, All Progressives Congress (APC) members met at Abuja for a meeting which started some minutes after 3:00pm was held behind closed doors. The APC has accepted the leadership of the National Assembly, although peace talks are still going on. The party was in crisis over the election of Senator Saraki and Honorable Dogara as Senate President and Speaker House of Representatives respectively, against the party's recommendation. The Senate also ignored the party's recommendations for principal officers and went ahead to appoint its own officers, although the lower chamber is yet to appoint its principal officers.

Okorocha, the Imo State Governor said progress has been made but  he did not give details. 

''I'm happy to announce to all of you that the peace at the National Assembly is at sight. We have had discussions and we have all agreed to accept peace. So you will not see any more disagreement.''

He also said...

''Both the Senate President, Speaker, distinguished Senator Lawan and Honorable Femi Gbajabimila will work together for the unity of the National Assembly and for the progress of our party."

The meeting was also attended by Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, Speaker House of Representatives, Honorable Yakubu Dogara, the party's preferred candidate for Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan and the peaty's preferred candidate for Speaker, House of Reps, Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila
