Osinbajo visits Maiduguri

The vice President Prof. Osibajo visited Maiduguri for a day to see the extent of damage done by the insurgents that has killed and rendered thousands homeless. The Federal Government is committed to rebuilding and resettling the Internally Displaced Persons (IPDs) in the state.

Osibajo said he visited Maiduguri because the President insisted and the  President wanted to know the living conditions of the IDPs. Osibajo told the IDPs that the government will leave no stone unturned and ensure a quick end to insurgency and their return to their various communities as soon as possible. He also visited the  University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) to see the bomb victims.

Osibajo also met the Shehu of Maiduguri and other stakeholders in the State and held a meeting behind closed doors. He was accompanied by the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mohammed Sidi. The Borno State Governor was delighted that the Federal Government is concerned about the IDPs in the State. 

Fuel queues return to Abuja

Barely three weeks after the queues were cleared,  long queues are back in the Federal Capital Territory. Residents are complaining that they have been on the queue since morning and some others said for several hours and they are yet to get fuel. The NNPC has promised that they are on top of the situation and warned consumers against panic buying as there is enough product. 

The Group Public Affairs Division of the Corporation, Ohi Alegbe in a statement said..

''The corporation has enough stock of petrol to service the country for at least 25 days at a national consumption rate of 40 millions litres per day,''  ''We have also stepped up the product distrubution to petroleum marketers and NNPC reatil outlets across the country,'' he added.

Tanker drivers speed limit

Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG) has put the maximum speed limit for trucks at 60 km/hr. The Petrol tanker drivers decision was announced by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on wednesday. Even though the FRSC had announced the speed limit at 75 km/hr earlier.

 Tanker drivers in recent times have caused a lot of accidents, lives were lost and properties destroyed. The FRSC and NUPENG have threatened to restrain the movement of tanker drivers without the speed limiters or reflective tapes from the 1st of September 2015.

Rick Ross granted bond

Rick Ross the famous rapper who is accused of assaulting two workers last month has been released after an usual deal was made. He has agreed to forfeit $5 million fayetteville property if he violates the conditions of the bond. He spent a week in jail. Ross appeared for his bail hearing Wednesday afternoon along with his bodyguard Nadrian James and was released after posting a hefty bail according to sources.

Chris Brown files for paternity documents

The 'Loyal' singer, Chris Brown has filed to establish paternity of his daughter, Royalty, because he is having issues with his baby mama, Nia Guzman sources say. The singer has been paying Nia $2500 every month but she is demanding for $15000 and she's making it difficult for him to see their daughter. 

Brown told Ryan Seacrest in early in June that

''For me, there comes a time where people have to grow up and start becoming of an adult and taking reponsiblity, and i think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter,''
