The Sports loving Governor of Lagos State, BR Fashola has joined the growing list of people whom have shown appreciation for the superlative performance of the Eagles which led to them lifting the AFCON Trophy for Nigeria after 19 years.
He rewarded the team as follows:
1) Coach Stephen Keshi will get N2.5 million
2) His immediate assistant, Daniel Amokachi, N2 million.
3) The other four assistants N1.5 million each.
4) Captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, N1.5 million
5) The other 22 players N1 million each.
6) For the 11 goals scored in South Africa, N500,000 for each goal totaling N5.5 million.
7) The back room staff N15 million to share
8) Supporters Club N4.5 million
